Developed a technical approach, topology, and detailed engineering specification for a 12.4kVAR, 617V, 24Arms D-STATCOM power converter assembly that would be used as part of a 500kVAR, 7200V, 41Arms system.

The scope of work included preliminary design concepts, fuse sizing, IGBT selection, gate drive requirements, DC link capacitor selection, packaging, sensing, control, interfacing, and a novel converter bypass system. Protection and communication coordination, design requirements, and testing requirements were also included.
